PRE-ENROLMENT AND REGISTRATION UPDATE:
If you are registering for Kindergarten OR if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools in our Designated Zone and your children are in the Kindergarten or Grade 1 to Grade 6 range, you can register online.
New to EPSB?
Steinhauer School has started accepting new student and kindergarten registrations for the 2024-2025 school year on February 1, 2024 at 8AM, and the cutoff for Pre-Enrolment is Friday, March 22nd, 2024 at 4pm. Applying after March 22nd, 2024, may limit your options to schools with available space. Please note submission of registration does not mean your child has been enrolled – we will contact you to let you know in mid-April 2024 on the status of your child(ren)’s application.
IS YOUR STUDENT STARTING KINDERGARTEN IN THE FALL?
Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2024, may register in Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year.
Registration Process
Please visit epsb.ca to register your child(ren). Under “Schools” you will see the heading “Register for School” and beneath it you will see “New Student Registration” and “Kindergarten Registration.” If you are registering your child for Kindergarten, please ensure to choose “AM,” or “PM” for the time of day you prefer your child(ren) to attend. For Grades 1-6, you will use the New Student Registration section.
Kinder Classes are half day programs only (and only PM classes are eligible for bussing, not AM classes). For Grades 1-6 they are Full Day classes.

In both the New Student and Kindergarten Registration sections on the epsb.ca website link for submitting your registration it is under “STEP 3: REVIEW AND COMPLETE THE DIGITAL STUDENT REGISTRATION FORM” where you click on “digital student registration”
Please see below a listing of the various examples of accepted documentation the Division will look for which is depended on the citizenship as outlined in the registration process:
Legal proof of student’s name

· If the documents don’t confirm your child’s citizenship or status, parents may be asked to provide citizenship immigration documents (e.g., work permit, study permit or citizenship card or certificate). Visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada for more information.

CONFIRMING REGISTRATION SUBMISSION:
Once you have submitted your completed student registration form and supporting documents, we will review all of them. This does not mean your child has been enrolled at the school, we will provide an update on the status of the application in mid-April., Please note we may contact you if we need clarification about any of the documents you submit, or request additional documentations as well.
Applying for Bussing with Student Transport
Student Transportation manages all the bussing, the schools confirm student registration and forwards your cancellations or amendment requests with Transport; the school does not coordinate bussing, this is all handled by Transport.
If you require bussing and have not applied for bussing before, please visit epsb.ca under the “Schools” heading at “Get to School” and click on “Applying for Yellow Bus Service.” Go under the “2024-2025” heading to click on “2024-25 yellow bus service application form”. Please read all the information carefully on the site.
CURRENT YELLOW BUS RIDERS
If your child rides the yellow bus, you can apply for continued service to their current school in SchoolZone between February 1st, and June 1, 2024.
When you sign in to your parent SchoolZone account:
- go to the Student Profile tab
- choose Transportation
- select Bus Application
- follow instructions to apply for yellow bus service for next year and make sure to update your contact information
Missed the June 1 deadline? Use the 2024–25 yellow bus service application form or contact your child’s school. Applications are accepted throughout the year, but applications received passed the deadline means the students will not start bussing on the first day of school.

PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS THERE IS NO BUSSING FOR THE MORNING CLASSES, ONLY THE AFTERNOON CLASSES ARE PROVIDED WITH BUSSING BY STUDENT TRANSPORTATION.
